Will Wardle

Will first joined ICMM in June 2021 as a Programme Support Officer for a one-year placement during his undergraduate studies. He then returned in September 2023 as a Programme Officer.

At ICMM, Will works across the Nature, Data & Research, and Decarbonisation teams. He is especially interested in the connections between these projects and how they can be harnessed to drive broader systemic change. Will also leads ICMM’s efforts on circularity and mitigating nature-related risks within mining’s value chains.

Will holds a degree in Human Geography from Durham University, where his thesis focused on the drivers and barriers to improving circularity in the mining and metals industry, with a particular emphasis on legislative and political factors.
